MIG Welding
We have a lot of projects were we MIG weld carbon steel, aluminum and
stainless steel on a regular basis. With MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding,
the filler wire material is fed off of a spool through a “gun”, which
directs the wire, inert shielding gas and electricity to the area to be
welded. MIG welding is a fast process that enables the weld to be
deposited quickly so that any distortion from the heat can be kept to a
minimum. It is normally preferred for joining medium to heavy metal
sections. However, for very thin metals, the TIG welding process is
much preferred because the amount of heat applied can be precisely
controlled.
